Youve probably all heard about this like a week ago but I didnt post anything because I wanted to be sure they mad an agreement. NBA.com has posted an article and it says that pending agreement season begins on christmas.

Now for a question I ask to my readers: Why did they lockout and what do you think about this whole thing?

Answer: 2 words: Collective Bargaining. Its stupid though because they get paid millions of dollars just to play. If that was me I wouldnt care what We as players get in the deal as long as we get to do what we came into the league to do which is play basketball. If I signed a contract it would be maybe in the 1-3 million a year range not like some who sign and get 8 million a year. A man needs to live on what he makes and support their families not be greedy and spend it on a giant mansion. But I probably would do that as long as my entire family lived in it and not just one person. Share the wealth not hoard it. Back to the subject. NBA is back and we finally get 3 sports to watch in the winter!

2nd Trade: The Cardboard Junkie

Recently by which I mean about a month ago I emailed dayf who you know runs a blog called the cardboard junkie. Ive been reading it for about 2 years and its actually pretty good. Since its almost 11pm where I live I just want to give a brief detail about the trade

What I sent: 30 diamond platinum anniversary cards from series 1 all the way to the update set. And a few bonus cards as well (Hopefully he doesnt have them yet)

What I got in return: A huge portion of 2011 set needs and some topps baseball cards from 1986-93 which I asked for. Plus a bonus sketch card of godzilla which is pretty good by the way I like the blue beam shooting out of his mouth. Id show it to you all here but I dont have a scanner to do it. Go to his blog

Good Trade?: Yeah of course it was. I got at least 60 cards that I needed and im down to about 50 from the first 3 sets combined (Opening Day-Series 2) and I got a lot of cards from preciously mentioned years which now is going to take me a few days to get organized.

Any Notable cards?: This is a new feature im going to do in future trade posts. With this one dayf sent about 6 small packages each containing about 60 cards. Before I get off the subject yes there were notable cards. Dennis Eckersley (1987) Dave LaPoint (1986) Randy Wells,Starlin Castro (Both 2011) and a few others I just cant remember the names at the moment and I also havent opened everything yet since I have to get all my cards organized. Its going to take a while and its getting kind of frustrating. Ill probably have more on this once i get everything sorted.

First wax box

Finally I get to open my first full box of anything and this one is the one for one of my favorite football sets ever! 1988 topps football. Back wehn I was doing the Topps Set of the day (Which I will do again in about a month) I worte a bit about it and if i remember correctly I said that I was goiing to buy this set. And I did back in may. I ordered it from cardsone.com unfortunately it took them 6 MONTHS to ship it. Thats right 6 months. Of course thats my fault because I had picked things that were out of stock. When you think about it though its not really that hard to find a junk wax era box right? NO! there should be plenty to sell. I was hoping I would be able to open it this year but I guess Ill have to wait until 2012 to open it. Its still a month away but I can wait. Besides its not like I dont have 2011 topps football to open right now. Im about 1 fourth of the set complete without the SPs. I might post a pack or 2 once I start opening it. Still not sure. Im so close to finishing my 2011 topps baseball set. From Opening Day to Series 2 I need about 160 cards. Hopefully I can finish that but if not ill just trade something next year for them.

My First Autograph

Before I start to post on the subject of the post I would like to wish everyone a happy thanksgiving. I hope you all had fun with friends and family and are full of turkey ham or whatever it is you ate.

I would also like to say that I want to stop posting about baseball while there is no MLB games in progress. I just think that it shouldnt be done. Unfortunately I cant get off the subject…oh well. This post is to remember my first autograph. Back in 2007 I began my collection of topps cards. At this time it was only baseball and the occasional football pack as well. I remember that I was 12 years old at the time and that I had never bought a blaster before. When I did I thought I got a great value. (126 or so cards for $20 same as 10 retail packs) I got one just to get an experience of it. And I liked it because you know what the best card was? Of course you do you read the title right? An Autograph of James Loney

The card here is not an actual scan of my card but as you can see its what it looked like. Now you might ask well whats so important about this card? well its my very first autograph. What did I think of it when I first got it ? Not much actually. I knew it was a great card and the excitement only lasted about 5 minutes. I thought it was a one per box kind of thing so thats why I didnt appreciate it now?

After 5 years where is this card?: Well I still have it. Its sitting in a a toploader in my room inside a box all with soft corners. I held it alot and I dont really protect my cards like alot of other collectors do .

Have I gotten any others since then?: Only 1 out of a repack which I bought in order to get some wrappers for my binders. I sent that one to Pat Neshek in a ttm request (Which I havent gotten back but im not worried)

Will I ever trade or sell it?: No I dont think I ever will (If youre reading this Night Owl im sorry. Maybe I would if it had been a 2nd hit)

Thats pretty much all I wanted to share tonight. Dont know why exactly but thats blogging. You can say whatever it is yuo want and not have to worry Like I said in my first post thats what blooging is: A way to express thoughts and Ideas.

And now I want to ask my readers (That is if I even have any) Do you remember the first Auto or relic or whatever it was you got? What did you do with it? And do you still have it? 1st Trade: Blowout Cards Forum

With the unfortunate passing of Greg Halman I decided to delay this for a few days. I registered over at the blowout cards forum back in december of 2010. At the time I found it useless. Why would anyone create a forum for cards? then it hit me: Trading! of course I didnt go on after I registered so my 1st post wasnt until about mid september. My intentions on joining the forum was to get rid of a few cards while getting some cash in the process. Unfortunately I ended up trading instead of selling. A good thing however was that I got 30 2010 topps chrome cards in my deal

What did I trade?: A 2011 Topps Cognac Diamond SP of Frank Thomas

What Did I get?: As previously mentioned 30 random cards from 2010 Topps Chrome

Any Notable Cards?: Yes Quite a few in my opinion. Here are some Andrew Cashner Allen Craig Prince Fielder (Great Card you’ve all seen the image) Chad Billingsley Kevin Youkilis

Was It A Good Trade?: Personally I think it was. A mix of good stars and rookies and it was all chrome which I like a lot. Very Shiny and who doesnt like shiny?

If I get any more Cognac SPs I might Trade them for regular Base SPs from any year especially from 2011 because I really like that set and Ive already got 2 SPs

Greg Halman: 1987-2011

Today is a sad day for baseball. In just 2 weeks we go from worrying if 1 baseball player will be able to live to see another day and then we get news that another is dead. Today this post is going to be about Greg Halman. I had other things planned for today like my first trade post but that can wait. As we know Greg Halman was an outfielder for the Mariners. I consider him to be a Prospect. Although I may not know the exact defenition of Prospect I do know that playing for 2 seasons means that you still need a lot of work to really make it in any sport. Life in an industrial job is the same way. I am not going to know much about jobs yet but when I do I know that it will be a time to be serious. Again thats how baseball is…have fun but also be serious because you cant mess around while the rest of your team wants to win. Back to Halman. Reports say that he was stabbed to death around 5 am in Rotterdam which is somewhere in the Netherlands. Although I havent really read a full article concerning his death I find the information I posted to be consistent. Some last words for today’s post: Let your prayers go out to his family,friends and the Mariners Organization. Theyll never find another person like Greg Halman.

Rest In Peace Greg Halman…you will be missed by me, every baseball fan and every Mariners fan but especially by your family.

2013 Houston Astros

what does this title mean? It means that in 2013 the houston astros will be sent to the AL causing a realignment in MLB. What does this mean for the League? Possibly a 2nd wild card spot in the playoffs or they might just make the playoffs similar to how basketball does it…3 division winners and 5 other spots in each conference or maybe 3 division winners and 3 wild card spots OR they will just keep it the way it is. What do you think?

More Information on Wilson Ramos Kidnapping

I was going to do this yesterday but then I forgot about it. Its kind of stupid when you think about it (not the kidnapping the fact that I was on my computer when I planned it)

that should give some info to you all. On a different article I read that he was taken to the mountains and that he never saw his captors. When the police confronted him and his kidnappers a shootout type of thing and that as soon as he heard the police call him he knew he was safe. The article I posted gives details such as the amount of time he was held captive (51 hours) and that he didnt know what to do.

He might not be the same person after this ordeal but at least hes safe and thats all that matters right now
